Through my work in counseling, I love being a form of support for people. I specifically focus on valuing the client-counselor relationship and helping people find solutions to their problems from within. I have always believed that people carry the strength and courage to find their solutions to life’s problems. My work focuses on helping others find their courage, strength, freedom, and authenticity. I believe in being supportive during this journey and affirming the experiences of others, especially when they experience obstacles such as losing hope and experiencing stigma. I believe that the counseling relationship can truly make a positive difference in the lives of others.
During our first meeting together, we will discuss your goals and expectations for therapy and work together to find a way to work through the concerns you bring to therapy. I value your time, experience in therapy, and any feedback you have about the time we share together. It takes a lot of courage to start looking for a therapist. You have the courage you need to make that next step and reach out for a consultation. I have worked with clients with many different difficulties, such as anxiety and depression, and I also specialize in working with the LGBTQ+ community and believe in providing a safe space for clients to explore their sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.
In terms of how I work, I construct my counseling approach in order to meet the needs of individual clients based on the concerns they bring to therapy and their goals for treatment. I most commonly use counseling theories that are associated with Humanistic therapy. Specifically, I counsel from the theoretical orientations of Person Centered Therapy, Existential Therapy, Multicultural theories of counseling, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
I look forward to speaking with you and helping you get started on your journey today.
